My husband and I are starting to plan a trip to Greece in October (Fly in on Sept 28th, leave Oct 8th). We're thinking of splitting our time between Athens, Santorini, and Crete, but we're open to suggestions. We love history, good food, and beautiful beaches. Does this sound like a good plan, or should we consider other islands or mainland spots? Also, any must-see attractions or hidden gems in these areas? Would love to hear your recommendations!

Your plan sounds fantastic! Athens, Santorini, and Crete offer a great mix of history, stunning beaches, and delicious food. In Athens, don't miss the Acropolis and the Plaka neighborhood for a mix of history and charming streets. Santorini is perfect for those iconic sunsets and unique volcanic beaches, while Crete offers a blend of ancient ruins like Knossos and beautiful beaches like Elafonissi. If you're open to adding another spot, consider Nafplio on the mainland for its romantic vibe and historical sites. What kind of activities are you most excited about?
