Question 8 Days in Croatia: North or South?

I'm planning an 8-day trip to Croatia and I'm torn between exploring the northern regions or heading south. The Rick Steves book suggests focusing on either northern Croatia and Slovenia or the southern coastal areas. What do you all think? Which regions offer the best experiences in that time frame? I’m looking for a mix of scenic views, culture, and maybe some outdoor activities. Any insights or personal experiences would be super helpful!

For an 8-day trip, I’d lean towards the southern coastal areas of Croatia. The Dalmatian Coast offers stunning scenic views, historic towns like Dubrovnik and Split, and plenty of outdoor activities like kayaking or hiking.
