Hi everyone! My husband and I are planning to visit the Balkans in early September for about 9 days, and we could use some help with our itinerary. We're thinking of hitting spots like Croatia, Bosnia, and Montenegro, but we're not sure how to structure our time. What are the must-see places that we shouldn't miss? Also, any tips on travel between these countries would be super helpful. Looking forward to your suggestions!

That sounds like an amazing trip! For a 9-day itinerary, I'd recommend starting in Dubrovnik for its stunning old town and then heading to Split. You can take a bus or ferry between these cities. After that, consider a day trip to Mostar in Bosnia for its iconic bridge. Finally, don’t miss Kotor in Montenegro with its breathtaking landscapes. Each of these spots offers a unique vibe and plenty of local cuisine to enjoy. Are you planning to rent a car, or would you prefer public transport for easier travel between destinations?

It sounds like you have a fantastic adventure ahead! I’d also suggest looking into visiting the national parks like Plitvice Lakes in Croatia for its stunning waterfalls and nature. If time allows, you might want to explore the beautiful town of Perast in Montenegro as well. It’s a small gem with amazing views and history. When it comes to traveling between these countries, public transport is quite reliable, but renting a car could give you more flexibility to explore lesser-known spots. Which activities or experiences are you both most excited about in the Balkans?
