We are an active family and enjoy the outdoors more than guided tours or museums. We love nature and are looking for suggestions on how to spend 9 days with our kids, ages 14 and 9. We're open to any destination that offers great outdoor activities, scenic views, and maybe some light adventure. Does anyone have recommendations for destinations or specific activities that would keep both kids engaged and happy? Also, any tips on balancing activities to avoid burnout would be appreciated.

Hoping this comment isn’t too late, but Morocco could be a great fit for your family. We had an amazing time there, and it really balances adventure with relaxation. The Sahara Desert is unforgettable, with camel rides, sandboarding, and nights under the stars while the Atlas Mountains offer light hikes with stunning views that kids can enjoy too.
To avoid burnout, I’d suggest mixing active days with slower ones, like exploring markets or relaxing at a riad. Letting the kids help pick activities kept us excited the whole trip. We booked our desert tour with a local company, and it made everything smooth and stress-free. Definitely a destination I’d recommend.
