We're planning to spend 6 nights in Belgium with 5 full days of exploring, and I'm trying to figure out the best base for our stay. Should we settle in Brussels for easy access to other cities, or is Bruges a better choice for its charm? I've also heard Ghent and Antwerp have their unique vibes. What do you recommend for a well-rounded experience? Any advice on how to split our time among these places would be super helpful!

It sounds like an exciting trip! If you're looking for a balance between charm and accessibility, I’d recommend Brussels as your base. It’s centrally located, making day trips to Bruges, Ghent, and Antwerp quite easy. You can spend a day or two exploring each city! Bruges is a must-see for its picturesque canals, while Ghent offers a more local feel with beautiful architecture. Don’t forget to try the local waffles and chocolates wherever you go! How does that sound for a plan?

Brussels as a base sounds like a solid plan, especially for its central location. Since you're aiming for a relaxed vibe, you might want to dedicate a full day to Bruges for its serene canals and medieval charm, and another day to Ghent for its laid-back atmosphere and stunning architecture. Antwerp could be your third day trip for a mix of art, fashion, and diamonds. This way, you can enjoy the diversity of Belgium without feeling rushed. Have you thought about which local delicacies you're most excited to try?
