Thanks in advance for any recommendations! We (2 healthy seniors) are beginning to plan our 3rd trip, and this time we're really interested in touring smaller towns. We want to use public transport to get around, so we're looking for places that are easily accessible and have a lot to offer in terms of culture, scenery, and local experiences. Any suggestions for towns that are great for exploring via train or bus? Would love to hear your recommendations!

What a fantastic idea to explore smaller towns! I’d recommend looking into places like Lucca in Italy, known for its well-preserved Renaissance walls and charming streets. In Spain, Ronda offers stunning cliffside views and rich history. Both towns are accessible by public transport and have a lot to offer in terms of local culture and experiences. Have you thought about any specific countries yet?

Lucca and Ronda are excellent choices! For a romantic touch, you might also consider visiting Sintra in Portugal. It's a fairy-tale town with colorful palaces and lush gardens, easily reachable by train from Lisbon. Another beautiful option is Gjirokastër in Albania, known for its stone architecture and scenic mountain views. Have you had a chance to explore any of these places, or do you have a particular country in mind for this trip?
