Question Best Time for Gorilla Tracking in Rwanda?

I'm planning a trip to Rwanda for gorilla tracking and trying to figure out the best time to go. I've heard that June to September and December to February are ideal, but I'm curious about the differences in weather and how it affects the trekking experience. Has anyone gone during the off-peak months? How was the experience compared to the recommended times? Also, any tips on preparing for the trek would be appreciated!

Hi, I hope you will find this reply helpful. Gorilla tracking is one activity I recommend for you, and here is what you need to know.
There are dry seasons which fall in June-September, December to March, in these months, the rain isn't so much and therefore you can do your activity with fewer interruptions. Gorilla tracking involves you going out into the forest, which is in a hilly place, looking for the gorillas. When you travel in the dry seasons, the terrain is less muddy and easier to hike than in the wet season. However, you can still do gorilla tracking in the wet months of April, May, October, and November. Please note that it is not guaranteed that it cannot rain even in the dry months; it's just that it's less likely.
Gorilla tracking is done in Rwanda and Uganda; the permit for Rwanda is $1500 exclusive of other costs, whereas in Uganda, the permit is $800. For a better experience, I advise you to blend the gorilla tracking with a visit to other interesting sites.
In Rwanda, you need a minimum of 2 days and 3 days in Uganda, but an extended package with many days is available for your choice. By the way, you can visit both Rwanda and Uganda.
If you let me know the number of days you have, I could advise you better on the itinerary and the accommodation to stay in, or check out this https://trackinggorillasuganda.com. Contact me on WhatsApp +256782554763.
