New Year - new destination! We're working on an itinerary for late April/May travel that will include Bulgaria and Romania. We're looking for a mix of cultural experiences, nature, and maybe some off-the-beaten-path adventures. Has anyone traveled to these countries during this time of year? What were the highlights for you? Also, any advice on must-visit places or hidden gems would be amazing. We're particularly interested in how the weather is around that time and if there are any festivals or events we shouldn't miss.

Late April/May is a fantastic time to visit Bulgaria and Romania! The weather is usually mild and perfect for exploring. In Bulgaria, don’t miss the Rila Monastery and the Seven Rila Lakes for a mix of culture and stunning nature. For something off-the-beaten-path, check out the Belogradchik Rocks. In Romania, the Transfagarasan Highway is a must if you’re up for a scenic drive, and the painted monasteries of Bucovina are breathtaking. Also, keep an eye out for local festivals—May often has traditional celebrations. Have you thought about adding a Danube River cruise to your itinerary?
