Question Can Insurance Cover a Delayed Passport?

I'm planning to travel to Belgium on October 25, but there's a chance my passport might not be issued in time due to government delays. I'm wondering if travel insurance can cover situations like this. Has anyone had experience with insurance covering delays or issues with passport issuance? Would love to know if this is something I can rely on or if I need to look into other options.

Travel insurance can sometimes cover passport delays, but it really depends on the policy. Some plans include 'trip delay' or 'missed departure' coverage, which might apply if your passport delay causes you to miss your flight. However, not all policies cover government-related delays, so it's crucial to read the fine print or contact the insurer directly. Have you checked with your insurance provider yet? If not, it might be worth exploring expedited passport services as a backup plan.
