Question Cancellation Charges for Train Tickets?

I've got a train ticket booked for November 5th but I've had a change of plans and won't be able to travel. I'm really hoping the cancellation fee isn't too steep since the date is just around the corner. Does anyone know how much is usually deducted for canceling a train ticket? Any experiences or tips on how to navigate this would be helpful!

Cancellation charges for train tickets can vary depending on the train service and the type of ticket you purchased. Often, the closer you are to the travel date, the higher the fee. Some services might allow cancellations up to a few hours before departure with a smaller fee. Have you checked the specific policies on the railway company's website? Also, if you purchased travel insurance, they might cover some of those costs. It might be worth a look! Have you considered rescheduling instead?
