Hi, my wife and I are planning a trip to Croatia this September and could really use some advice on putting together our itinerary. We're thinking of visiting Dubrovnik, Split, and maybe some of the islands, but we're not sure how to best allocate our time. Also, we're wondering about the best ways to get around. Should we rent a car, or is public transport reliable enough? Any hidden gems or must-see spots you'd recommend? Looking forward to your insights!

Croatia in September sounds like a wonderful choice! For a balanced itinerary, I’d suggest spending a few days in Dubrovnik to explore its historic walls and charming streets, then head to Split to enjoy its vibrant atmosphere and Diocletian’s Palace. For the islands, Hvar and Korčula are both stunning and offer a mix of relaxation and adventure. As for transport, renting a car gives you flexibility, especially for exploring hidden gems like the Pelješac Peninsula or Krka National Park. However, public ferries between the islands are reliable and scenic. Have you considered how many days you’ll have in total?
