Review Eating at Budapest's Central Market: A Cautionary Tale

I recently visited Budapest and, after reading Rick Steves’ recommendations, I decided to try some food from the stalls at the Central Market. While I was excited, I ended up having a less than pleasant experience. The food didn't match my expectations, and I faced some hygiene concerns that made me rethink my choices. Has anyone else had a similar experience there? Or did you find any hidden gems in the market that were worth the visit? Would love to hear your stories!

I’m sorry to hear about your experience at the Central Market. It can be hit or miss. While some stalls offer fantastic local delicacies, others might not meet expectations. I found that the pastry stalls often deliver, especially the chimney cakes. Have you tried any specific dishes that you were hoping to enjoy? It might help to ask locals for recommendations next time, as they often know the hidden gems!
