Hi! I just noticed that my Finnair Status randomly changed from Gold to Basic without any explanation. I had over 6 months left on my status, and now I'm scrambling to understand what happened. My Avios are still intact, but this completely messed up my Qatar Airways bookings since I had specific seats arranged based on my Gold status. Has anyone else experienced a sudden drop in their airline status? What did you do about it? Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

That sounds incredibly frustrating! Sudden status drops can be so disruptive, especially when it affects your travel plans. Have you reached out to Finnair's customer service yet? Sometimes these issues are due to system errors or overlooked terms in their loyalty program. If you haven’t already, I’d recommend contacting them directly with your account details and any proof of your status. Keep us posted on how it goes—hopefully, they can resolve it quickly!

That’s really frustrating! It could be a system glitch or a mistake in your requalification process. Sometimes, status can drop if certain criteria aren’t met, or it might be a technical error on the airline’s end. The best course of action is to get in touch with Finnair’s customer support to explain your situation and get clarity. Since your Avios are intact, it’s a good sign they haven’t fully reset your account. For your Qatar Airways bookings, explaining your status situation to them might help in reinstating the seat arrangements. Hopefully, they’ll be understanding!
