Question Homestays & Language Immersion in France and Spain

Hi everyone! I'm a senior, retired and really eager to improve my French and Spanish. I'm considering joining a homestay or a language immersion program in either France or Spain. Has anyone here participated in such programs? I’m especially curious about how immersive the experience was and if you found it helpful for learning the language. Any recommendations for specific programs or locations would be appreciated too!

That sounds like a wonderful way to spend your retirement! For a truly immersive experience, I’d recommend smaller towns or villages in France and Spain where English isn’t as widely spoken. In France, places like Annecy or Aix-en-Provence are charming and offer a slower pace, perfect for practicing French.
