We are in Glasgow with an extra day to explore, and heard about the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh. Considering making a day trip out of it, but I'm not sure if one day is enough to experience the festival properly. Has anyone done a day trip to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival? What were your highlights, and any tips for making the most out of a short visit? Also, how's the commute between Glasgow and Edinburgh for a day trip?

A day trip to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival can definitely be worth it, especially if you plan ahead. The commute between Glasgow and Edinburgh is straightforward, with frequent trains taking about an hour. To make the most of your day, I'd recommend checking the festival schedule in advance and booking tickets for a couple of shows you're really interested in. Also, explore the Royal Mile for street performances and a lively atmosphere. Have you thought about which types of performances you'd enjoy most?
