My husband and I (in our 70s) will be traveling to western Norway in May. We fly into Alesund and plan to explore the stunning fjords and charming towns in the region. We're looking to make the most of our trip, so I’d love some advice on must-see places and activities. Are there specific fjords or scenic routes we should prioritize? Also, any recommendations for comfortable accommodations and dining options would be appreciated. Thanks!

What a wonderful trip you have planned! In western Norway, be sure to visit Geirangerfjord and Nærøyfjord—they're absolutely breathtaking and often considered the highlights. The scenic drive along the Atlantic Road is also a must for stunning coastal views. For accommodations, look for charming boutique hotels in Ålesund or cozy guesthouses in the fjord areas. As for dining, don’t miss trying fresh seafood at local eateries in Bergen or Ålesund. Have you thought about any specific activities like a fjord cruise or hiking? Those can add a memorable touch to your journey!
