I've been trying to get Art more involved in the planning, and in helping me research where to go - but he hasn't been as helpful as I hoped. In the end, he listened to me talk out loud to myself, describing all the possibilities, and potential negatives. I'm almost sure we're going to take a day trip to the Cotswolds - yes, it'll be a whirlwind day but I don't want to miss a chance to see the Cotswolds - it's been 10 years since we were there! Now I have a somewhat long list of things... Has anyone else had to take the reins on trip planning? How do you balance seeing everything you want with not overwhelming your travel partner?

It sounds like you're doing a fantastic job balancing your excitement with Art's more laid-back approach! Planning a trip can definitely feel overwhelming, especially when you're trying to fit in so much. One tip I’ve found helpful is to prioritize a few must-see spots and leave some room for spontaneity. Maybe let Art pick one or two activities he’s genuinely interested in—it could help him feel more involved without adding pressure. Have you thought about breaking your London itinerary into themed days, like history, food, or relaxation? That way, it might feel less like a checklist and more like an adventure! How does Art usually like to travel—does he prefer a slower pace or is he up for a packed schedule?
