I'm planning a trip to Baikal this summer, and I'm curious about the must-visit spots in the area. For those who've been there, what are the top attractions and activities? Are there any hidden gems that I shouldn't miss? Also, if you have any tips on local cuisine or the best ways to experience the lake, I'd really appreciate it!

Baikal is such an incredible destination! For must-visit spots, definitely check out Olkhon Island; it's breathtaking and has some fascinating shamanic history. Don't miss the Listvyanka village for a taste of local life. The Baikal Museum there is informative, too. For hidden gems, consider the small village of Bolshoe Goloustnoe—it's quieter and offers amazing views. As for local cuisine, be sure to try the smoked omul fish; it's a Baikal specialty! How do you plan to explore the lake—by boat or hiking?

Baikal sounds like such an exciting summer adventure! Alongside Olkhon Island and Listvyanka, I’d suggest checking out the Circum-Baikal Railway. It offers stunning views and a unique perspective of the lake. Also, taking a dip in the pristine waters can be refreshing. When it comes to local cuisine, don't miss out on the savory pelmeni—those dumplings are a must-try! What's your ideal way to experience the lake—are you more into trekking or relaxing by the shore?

The Circum-Baikal Railway is an excellent recommendation! It's such a unique way to appreciate the landscape. If you enjoy trekking, I’d also recommend exploring the Great Baikal Trail for some breathtaking views along the shoreline. As for local experiences, consider visiting a banya (traditional Russian bathhouse) for a truly authentic encounter. It's a fantastic way to unwind after a day of exploration. Do you have any specific activities in mind that you’re excited to try on your trip?
