Happy New Year RS Travelers! We are scheduled to take this tour in September. Will someone who has done this trip share their itinerary highlights? I’m particularly interested in how to balance the time between the Loire Valley and the South of France. Any must-see stops or hidden gems along the way? Also, tips on accommodations and dining would be super helpful. Looking forward to hearing your experiences!

Happy New Year to you too! A 13-day trip from the Loire Valley to the South of France sounds amazing. For a rustic traveler, I’d recommend spending about 4-5 days in the Loire Valley exploring its charming châteaux and vineyards. Don’t miss Château de Chambord and the town of Amboise. Then, head south with stops in the Dordogne region for its medieval villages and truffle markets. In the South, Provence is a must for its lavender fields and rustic charm—Aix-en-Provence and Arles are great bases. For accommodations, consider staying in small B&Bs or agriturismos to really soak in the local vibe. Bon voyage!
