We’ve been thinking about visiting Japan for years, and it looks like we might finally make it happen in the first half of September 2024! Our daughter and her young family are currently living there, which adds to the excitement. I’d love to hear from anyone who has traveled to Japan during that time. What are the must-see places, local festivals, or unique experiences we should check out? Also, any tips on how to best navigate travel with young kids in tow would be super helpful!

How exciting that you’ll finally be visiting Japan, especially with your family there! September is a wonderful time to experience the country. I'd recommend checking out the Jidai Matsuri festival in Kyoto, which showcases traditional costumes and performances. For unique experiences, consider visiting an onsen (hot spring) that’s family-friendly, and don’t miss the stunning autumn foliage starting to appear by the end of the month. As for traveling with young kids, using a Japan Rail Pass can save you time and money, and the train system is super efficient. Have you thought about any specific areas or themes you’d like to explore? 🎎
