I loved Walking Cradles until I had two pairs, several years apart, suddenly crumble while I was wearing them. It was such a disappointment, especially since they were comfortable and stylish. Has anyone else experienced this with Walking Cradles or other brands like Ecco? I'm curious if this is a common issue with polyurethane soles and if there's a way to prevent it or if I should just avoid these brands altogether for travel shoes.

Polyurethane soles crumbling is unfortunately a known issue, especially with older shoes or those stored for long periods. It’s not just Walking Cradles or Ecco—many brands face this due to the material degrading over time. For travel shoes, I’d recommend looking into brands that use rubber or TPU soles, as they tend to last longer. Have you considered trying a cobbler to replace the soles with a more durable material? It might save your favorite pairs!
