Hi everyone, we’re scheduled to fly to Munich in 3 weeks for a 2-week bike and barge trip. Unfortunately, my husband might not be able to travel due to some unforeseen issues (thankfully not COVID). I'm wondering how travel insurance works in situations like this. If he can’t go, will we be able to get any reimbursement or reschedule? Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? Any insights or advice would be super helpful!

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's situation. Travel insurance can be a bit tricky, but many policies offer coverage for trip cancellations if someone in your traveling party has to cancel for a valid reason. It's essential to review your specific policy to see what it covers. Typically, you might be able to get reimbursed for his portion of the trip if you file a claim. Have you reached out to your insurance provider yet? They can provide clarity on your options. It might also be worth checking if the airline or tour company offers flexible rescheduling policies. Hang in there! 🤞
