Question Visiting Ephesus in a Day from Istanbul

Greetings. Our party of 4 will be in Istanbul in May. We hope to visit Ephesus but we’re pressed for time and can only spare a day for this trip. Has anyone done a day trip to Ephesus from Istanbul? How did you manage your time, and what were the must-see spots you focused on? Also, any tips on transportation options would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to your advice!

Visiting Ephesus in a day from Istanbul is ambitious but doable with good planning. I'd recommend flying into Izmir early in the morning to maximize your time. Once there, focus on the Library of Celsus, the Great Theatre, and the Terrace Houses—they're the highlights. For transportation, consider hiring a private guide or joining a small group tour to streamline your visit. It’s a lot to pack in, but totally worth it for the history and atmosphere.
