Advice Visiting Vatican Museum on May 1st

Hi everyone! I'm going on a West Mediterranean Cruise that stops near Rome on May 1st, and I’m really excited about visiting the Vatican Museum. Since it's my first trip to Rome, I'm a bit worried about the crowds on that day. Does anyone have tips on the best time to visit the museum or how to avoid long lines? Also, I’d love to know if there are any must-see sections in the museum that I shouldn't miss. Thanks in advance!
