Hey everyone, I'm an American teacher considering a move to Glasgow, Scotland, to teach. I'm at the very beginning stages of my search and feeling a bit overwhelmed with where to start. Does anyone have experience or advice on teaching abroad, specifically in Glasgow? I'm curious about the process for foreign teachers, any cultural adjustments I should be aware of, and how the education system differs from the U.S. Any direction, suggestions, or comments would be incredibly helpful as I navigate this exciting but daunting opportunity.

Moving to Glasgow to teach sounds like an exciting adventure! A good starting point would be to research the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) as they regulate the teaching profession there. You'll likely need to register with them. Also, consider reaching out to schools directly or looking into international teaching agencies that can help with placements. As for cultural adjustments, Glaswegians are known for their warmth and humor, but the weather can be a big change! How do you feel about adapting to a new education system and culture?
