I reserved a vehicle two weeks ago through Expedia with Avis on E Galbraith Rd in Cincinnati. When I arrived today, the car was not available. The Avis franchise refused to help, and Expedia only offered to “consider” a refund—no assistance finding a replacement vehicle for my urgent trip. I’ve filed complaints with both companies, but since then Avis assessed me a “no-show” fee of $50 and Expedia is resisting making a refund. I can go through the process of disputing the charges through Visa, but that is a long process. Plus, I’m out two Uber rides back and forth to the Avis dealer. I won’t use Expedia or Avis again, and I won’t try to use car rentals from vendors outside of airports. Any advice about how I can resolve this problem? Does anyone think that there is a way to recover the cost of my Uber rides?
