I'm gearing up for the RS Tuscany tour in less than 3 months and could really use some advice on navigating trains and ticketing in Italy. We're planning to explore beyond the tour, and I'm a bit overwhelmed by the options. Should we book tickets in advance, or is it fine to buy them on the day? Also, any tips on avoiding common pitfalls with Italian trains would be super helpful. Looking forward to your insights!

Navigating Italian trains can be a breeze with a bit of preparation! For high-speed trains like Frecciarossa, booking in advance is wise—it’s often cheaper and ensures you get a seat. Regional trains, however, are more flexible, and you can usually buy tickets on the day. A tip: always validate your ticket at the yellow machines before boarding to avoid fines. Also, downloading the Trenitalia app can make your journey smoother. Have you thought about exploring smaller towns like Lucca or Arezzo? They’re charming and less crowded!
