Hello, we're starting to plan our 10th Rick Steves tour next year and are eyeing the Best of Adriatic itinerary. We're trying to figure out the best city to fly into. Has anyone done this tour and flown into Budapest? How was the experience? We're considering it but unsure if it's the best starting point or if we should look at other options. Any insights or tips on the best way to kick off this adventure would be greatly appreciated!

Budapest is a fantastic city to start your Adriatic adventure! It’s rich in history and culture, and the thermal baths are a must-visit. However, if you're looking to minimize travel time, you might consider flying into Venice or Zagreb, which are closer to the Adriatic coast. Both cities offer unique experiences and are great starting points for exploring the region. Have you thought about how much time you want to spend traveling before the tour officially begins?
